Tile Flooring has Started in the Entry

The tiling has started. It's not a particularly easy task as the tiles are very different sizes and thicknesses. 

Hopefully, no one will end up tripping.

Deck Surface is Finished - almost :(

Henrik surveys the new deck.

The workmanship is great and the cedar is gorgeous.

                                                                                     

We will be lounging on the new deck in the very near future.

Only the finishing touches are left on the deck boards.

We have to seal it quickly as the sun is beating down on it every day. 

The boards have already begun to shrink.

The side deck was started today and it looks great.

The cedar on this side has a very red tone.

More Deck Progress

Many miles of cedar boards have gone on the deck today.

Deck Construction Starts

The first work on the deck has started.

The sleepers have gone on the front part of the carport and the first deck boards are attached.

The old plywood has to come up because the decking is going on this week.

Tower Door Completed

The installation of the tower door is complete!

Tile Washing and Floor Prep

The scratch coat was added on top of the wires for the in-floor heating system.

It took all day and resulted in rather sore muscles.

HK put all the slate tiles out and washed the dust from their surfaces.

They dried inside overnight and are now ready to be installed in the entryway.

The Honey Locust has found a home!!

Summer on Wildberry Rd

The baby swallows are just about to fledge.

They are very curious about everything going on outside the nest box.

These baby robins have already left the nest.  They left one day after this picture was taken.

The deer skull looks quite elegant among the shasta daisies.

Shasta daisies are blooming in large numbers by the pump house.

The name plates have gone onto the gates - though the B's got skewered a bit they still make it look more like our place.

Jam Making

Today's productivity increased dramatically as I have recovered from the plague.

Progress Despite Decrepitude.....

Most of the progress is due to Henrik's continued diligence and the garden's unceasing ability to produce while no one is watching. The door at the top of the stairs is going in and will allow more privacy up there (and an ability to keep cats separate as needed).

The clean-up is nearly complete in the shrubs. This morning we watched a teen-age bunny doing laps around the cabbage palm in between chewing on the plants.

The garden is producing more than we can hope to consume.
