A Few Important Developments

The head banger beam has been pushed up into the ceiling in the basement.

The wiring has been put in place and connected to the lights, outlets and switches.  This will all be completed once the drywall has gone on.

One of the results of wiring is that the insulation has had to come out.
The house is rather chilly and full of fibreglass dust.

Ants at Work

This what carpenter ants can do to a perfectly good 2x6.  When we moved in there were ants in the walls of the master bedroom; we used some boric acid (aka Kill the Queen) to kill them and didn't give it another thought.  Fortunately for us, this was as far as the damage went and nothing was structurally unsound, this could have become a whole lot worse if we hadn't caught it when we did.  Taking all the drywall off and replacing it has at least given us the peace of mind to know there were no more ants attacking our house.
