Springtime Sunshine

Deck pots in the springtime sunshine.

Pretty stripy tulips on the deck.

The grass is growing quickly in the springtime sunshine.  This is the third cut for it this spring.

The mason bees are busy placing eggs in the bee tubes to create next year's pollinators.

Three bees are visible in the tubes in this photo, but there are actually at least a dozen moving back and forth between the flowers and the tubes.

The rhododendrons and cherry tree are blooming!!

The camas field is full of shooting stars and they leave a pinky carpet on the green background.

Tulips simply glow.

Tulips and Forget-me-nots!

Wildflowers Bless Us

Shooting stars in their fuscia dresses are turning the meadow a beautiful pinky purple.

Oregon grape has begun to flower in the forest.  A shock of yellow among the emerald green.

The first fairy slipper orchids have emerged in the shade of the fir trees.

Spring is Unleashing it's Potential

The cherry tree is in full bloom and if there are enough pollinators around we (or rather the birds) will have a lot of cherries to eat in June.

The Japanese maple is slowly unfurling it's deep red leaves.

The greenhouse is full of life.  Successful germination of lupins will hopefully mean the back hill can be covered in them.

More Lupins!

Lemon gem marigolds at 3 weeks old!

Tomatoes should be ready for transplanting outside in a month or so.
Red currants have produced their chains of flowers.  More red currant jelly is planned for this summer.
The peas that were planted before the Easter weekend are now emerging from the cold ground.

Finishing Work

Henrik is working on window trim. Finishing work is time consuming but it looks much better once it's done.

The octagon window in the future library seems much bigger now that it has a frame.

Flowers and Veges in the Garden and the Forest

The new heather plants have gone in next to the juniper.
They look better than the old dying ones.
A cruciferous bounty of goodness is growing in the fenced part of the garden.
Purple sprouting broccoli in all of its' purple glory!!
Russian kale is growing very quickly.
Daffodils always look brilliant in the sunshine.
The wildflowers are starting their show in the forest.

Deck Flowers

The deck pots are starting to look good.

The curly pansies are recovered from being transplanted.

The tulips will be blooming soon.
