| This what carpenter ants can do to a perfectly good 2x6. When we moved in there were ants in the walls of the master bedroom; we used some boric acid (aka Kill the Queen) to kill them and didn't give it another thought. Fortunately for us, this was as far as the damage went and nothing was structurally unsound, this could have become a whole lot worse if we hadn't caught it when we did. Taking all the drywall off and replacing it has at least given us the peace of mind to know there were no more ants attacking our house. |
