Windows and Doors

Living proof for Ray and Mike that the sun does shine at the end of Wildberry Rd! We have windows and doors installed now.
Next week the existing roof starts to come off and be replaced.
We will have a lifetime supply of cedar kindling.

The future sunroom is definitely the brightest place in the afternoon.

The new front door!

The roof on the addition is complete! This week the torch on deck was put in place and we have protection from the rain underneath the deck. Once the rainwater collection pipe placement is complete we'll be able to use the carport.

The morning sun shines right into the skylites when the rest of the house is still in the dark.

The roof is almost finished on the new part of the house. No more snow to clear out of the living room and the floor can finally start to dry out.

House from the octagon end!

A before picture so you can see what it used to look like before the construction saga began.

There was a large lumber pile at first and it was quickly put to use in flooring and framing.

The deck structure was also quickly visible and it was good to finally have an idea about what the whole thing was going to look like.

Construction saga

One of the first tasks was moving the big tanks so that we could build the deck without having to work between them. The excavator had no trouble removing them and then crushing the former garage.

We hit solid rock very quickly and so had less concrete to pour than originally expected. The tanks were moved to the lower part of the property and once the roof is finished they'll be reconnected and we'll start collecting rainwater again.

It started to rain and rain and rain... and the site was extremely muddy for quite a few weeks until it was backfilled again.
